A familiar face to many in the South Australian space industry, Dr Catherine Grace has been appointed as Director, Space for the South Australian Space Industry Centre (SASIC).
Joining SASIC in 2021, Catherine has been heavily involved in supporting the development of South Australia as the centre-of-gravity for space activity in her previous role.
Catherine’s appointment as Director, Space in February 2023 will see her lead industry and economic development activities for the agency and continue to guide the development of the state’s space sector strategy.
Her appointment follows the departure of Darin Lovett from SASIC to lead the iLAuNCH trailblazer.
SASIC Chief Executive Richard Price, said that Catherine’s strong relationships with industry and academia will help advance space industry innovation, research, and entrepreneurial growth in South Australia.
“I congratulate Catherine on her appointment as we embark on this next phase of the state’s space journey,” he said.
SASIC Chief Executive Richard Price also thanked Darin Lovett for his valuable contribution to the South Australian space ecosystem as Director, Space between 2019 and 2022.
