GRAVITY Challenge 06 champions have been revealed, unlocking unprecedented international collaboration.

Now in its fifth year, the global technology innovation program continues to gain ground as a leading supporter of innovators in space data and technology.

This year saw a record-breaking 54 initial proposals submitted by 33 Innovator Teams across Australia, Singapore, India, Africa, Czech Republic, the US and the UK, signalling the largest international innovator cohort to date. The teams worked Challenge Providers to address high-value business challenges in agriculture, transport, telecommunications, energy, and climate and sustainability.

In the end, 12 teams working on nine challenges were selected to co-design bespoke solutions, combining AI and geospatial intelligence to drive business innovation using space.

The next step will see Challenge Champions working with their Challenge Provider to develop a commercial pilot of their proposed space-based solution, ultimately unearthing fantastic industry development outcomes.

FSASIC has been a proud sponsor of the GRAVITY Challenge since it was established in South Australia in 2019, recognising the importance of enabling and expanding space industry technology and capability to address some of the world’s most pressing problems.

To date, GRAVITY Challenge has actively supported more than 1000 companies across 14 countries with 45 challenges addressed and 25 commercial agreements in place.
