Cape Carnot is a spectacular and geological significant headland where some of the oldest rocks in Australia can be seen at about 2400 million years old. Imposing coastline with dramatic sheer cliffs, rock pools, caves, beaches, local fauna and flora can all be experienced.

Visit the restored original homestead dating back to 1842, when Scotsman Adam Borthwick and his family made their home as one of the very first settlers of the region. As you stroll through the grounds under the beautiful old Eucalypt trees, you’ll come face to face with the cuddly icon of Australia as they laze in the Manna gums. Due to the gums being stunted, your view to the resident koalas is at eye level, and you will be awed by the vastness of the resident wild population.

In addition to koalas, wild but placid kangaroos hop around and graze and emus roam amongst mobs of sheep. There is also astounding birdlife here, some of which are rare and endemic to this area.
