Meet your First Nations guide at the Botanic Gardens. Get to know the historical and cultural significance of the Adelaide Botanic Garden, one of Adelaide’s premier tourist locations. As you embark on this interactive tour led by a First Nations guide, be exposed to the stunning gardens and abundance of native plants growing on Kaurna Yerta (Kaurna Country). Discover the Indigenous plants and their traditional uses, to learn about the significant connection between First Nations people and their Country.

Our Dark Experience Tour introduces you to one of the darkest places on earth within a close range of a capital city. Cross the 3rd longest navigable River in the world on a ferry. Marvel at ancient cliffs, and take in the sights from incredible vantage points. This region has the tallest cliffs and the longest single bend along the entire length of the Murray River.  Your tour meanders along the roadside path parallel to the River, amongst rolling hills and flat plains of a farming district with its own story to tell. You’ll see popular nesting grounds for cockatoos, and plentiful wildlife. We’ll introduce you to the human stars of the region, explain the fabric of the society, and why it’s so dark here.

  • Tour includes:
    • 1.5 hr non stop commentary and laser pointer tour of the night sky by an astronomer
    • Use of provided telescope under red light to view the night sky with access to a private location
    • Pull up stools for seating and Yoga Mats to lie on looking at the stars

Murray River Eco Cruise – Discover the beauty of Australia’s longest river. Relax and soak-up the serenity as you gently cruise away from your normal life. Your slow journey allows you to discover this unique Australian landscape. Enjoy expert commentary about the abundant birdlife and nature at its best on board the MV Dragonfly.

Dinner – our chosen venues are very peaceful locations perched with sweeping views of the mighty Murray River. Specialising in hearty, traditional Aussie pub meals (with alternate dining options and dietary requirements also catered for) the Pretoria Hotel, Mannum Community Club, Swan Reach Hotel or other venues provide a terrific opportunity for your tour host to introduce you to the River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve. The venues chosen are based on availability and touring path for the evening.

Stargazing Session – you will have use of a provided powerful telescope under red light to view the night sky at a private location away from traffic interruptions.  Our astronomers will guide you through the night sky with an impressive green laser pointer, providing constant commentary about stars, constellations, planets, clusters and galaxies. We provide pull up stools for seating and yoga mats to lie on looking at the stars. The views are sure take your breath away.

Proceeding with a booking is deemed as acceptance of Diverse Travel Australia’s term and conditions.

The tour operator reserves the right to alter the itinerary and transport in any way that may be necessary due to changes in road, weather, extreme high temperatures, or any change in operational conditions.

Aboriginal hosts are traditional people with strong cultural obligations. When cultural events occur, they may not be available which is beyond the control of tour operator.

Payment Conditions

A deposit of 25% of the tour cost for bookings made at least 90 days prior to the departure date.

The balance of the tour cost must be paid no later than 90 days prior to the departure date.

For bookings made less than 90 days from the departure full payment must be made at time of booking.

Cancellation Fees

If a cancellation is received more than 90 days prior to the departure date, the agent will retain or charge a cancellation fee equal to the full deposit (being 25% of the tour cost) as the cancellation fee.

If a cancellation is received between 46 days and 90 days prior to the departure date, the agent will deduct or charge 50% of the tour cost as the cancellation fee.

If a cancellation is received less than 46 days prior to the departure date, the agent will deduct or charge 100% of the tour cost as the cancellation fee.

In addition, the Client will be required to pay any cancellation fees imposed by Suppliers on the agent, which are in addition to the cancellation fees detailed in this clause and are not covered by the cancellation fees detailed in this clause.

Travel Insurance is highly recommended.
