South Australian artificial intelligence company AICRAFT has teamed up with South Korea’s CONTEC Space Optics (CSO) to enhance space telescopes with edge computing technology that will deliver unmatched data processing capabilities.

Further enhancing South Australia’s reputation in the space sector on a global scale, the partnership will see AICRAFT design and manufacture an upgraded version of its standard Pulsar edge computing devices to support ultra-high-speed processing to complement CSO’s advanced optical systems.

As a pioneer in the development of Earth observation cameras, CSO is renowned for delivering advanced optical payloads for surveillance, reconnaissance, and Earth observation missions.

CSO has already ordered two of AICRAFT’s devices, which can process vast amounts of imaging data efficiently, providing unparalleled data analysis and real-time insights for critical missions.

AICRAFT Co-founder and CEO Tony Scoleri said the collaboration underscores AICRAFT’s commitment to driving innovation in space technology.

“By integrating our edge computing solutions with CSO’s state-of-the-art optical payloads, we are aiming to set a new standard for satellite-based intelligence and imaging,” he said.

CONTEC Space Optics CEO Dr Youngwan (Young) Choi said the partnership with AICRAFT aligns with the company’s mission to deliver groundbreaking optical systems for the global space community.

“AICRAFT’s expertise in edge computing will enable us to enhance the capability of our Earth observation systems in our future satellite constellation for the benefits of our customers.”

The partnership is expected to drive advancements in satellite technology and operations, benefiting industries such as agriculture, defence, disaster management, and environmental monitoring.

This latest export opportunity is now the second from a South Korean company for AICRAFT, reaffirming their position as a trusted provider of cutting-edge AI solutions in the country for industries requiring high-performance and reliable technologies.
