Adelaide-based space technology company Neumann Space has announced its expansion into the United States, appointing its first US-based executive to drive business development locally and internationally.
In an announcement at the 39th Annual Small Satellite Conference in Utah this month, Neumann Space Chief Executive Officer, Herve Astier, congratulated Jason Wallace on his appointment as Vice President for Business Development.
“Jason’s deep understanding of the US space ecosystem and his experience in scaling space companies from R&D to commercialisation makes him an exceptional fit for Neumann Space at this critical juncture in the company’s evolution,” Mr Astier said.
Mr Wallace brings nearly two decades of commercial, strategic, and technical experience in the aerospace and defence sectors to Neumann Space at a time of growing demand from satellite and mission operators for superior mobility in space.
Neumann Space’s flagship product, the Neumann Drive, is an electric propulsion system that uses patented technology to convert a solid metal fuel rod into plasma, producing thrust for satellite missions.
The technology is currently in-orbit on missions including the University of Melbourne’s SpIRIT nano-satellite in collaboration with Inovor Technologies and the EDISON project where it is integrated as part of a collaboration with Danish company, Space Inventor.
On his appointment, Mr Wallace said he was excited for the opportunity to showcase Australian-built space technology to a global audience.
”I’m thrilled to join the team and help bring this Australian innovation to new markets and missions around the world,” Mr Wallace said.
“The space industry needs high-performance electric propulsion now more than ever, and Neumann Space is delivering a solution that’s both scalable and ready for the dynamic space operations of today and tomorrow.”
