South Australian-based Myriota, a global leader in secure, low power satellite IoT connectivity, has launched a rugged long‑life satellite tracker designed to give businesses reliable visibility of their assets anywhere on Earth, including locations far beyond traditional mobile networks.
The AssetHawk™ device installs in minutes and integrates easily with third-party visualisation and analytics platforms. Its compact, low‑profile design and flexible mounting options, including magnetic mounting, allow it to be deployed easily across rotating fleets or temporary assets. With an IP68 rating, its enclosure withstands dust, impact, extreme temperatures and submersion, making it ideal for use in mining, agriculture, transport and heavy industry.
The tracker is powered by Myriota’s HyperPulse™ 5G Non‑Terrestrial Network satellite technology, making it one of the most affordable and capable global tracking solutions available. It can monitor trailers, containers, pallets, vehicles and unpowered assets across vast regions, helping operators verify deliveries, reduce asset losses, improve utilisation and lower operating costs as fleets and deployments scale.
Myriota CEO Ben Cade said many tracking rollouts fall apart during large‑scale deployments and AssetHawk is designed specifically to avoid those pitfalls.
“Most tracking projects fail not in the lab, but at scale – when battery swaps, coverage gaps and complex integrations erode the business case. AssetHawk is designed to flip that equation,” Mr Cade said.
“By delivering global coverage, predictable multi-year life and straightforward integration in a single device, we’re giving solution providers and systems integrators a way to scale tracking profitably, even for assets that were previously too remote or low value to justify a tracker.”
To keep ongoing costs low, the device uses low‑power hardware that can deliver up to 10 years of battery life on just two AA batteries. Its intelligent firmware increases location updates only when movement is detected, striking a balance between better data and power efficiency.
Backed by Myriota’s decade of experience operating secure commercial satellite networks, AssetHawk is designed to meet the needs of government and enterprise customers that rely on trust and resilience.
A version with Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) support will soon be available, which will allow customers to collect data from compatible sensors, including temperature, vibration and other environmental information.
AssetHawk is currently available to markets including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Brazil and Mexico.
