South Australian company Egress Space has signed an agreement to integrate the engineering and manufacturing expertise of Brisbane-based space propulsion manufacturer Valiant Space into its expanding suite of services.
The move is set to strengthen Australia’s sovereign space vehicle manufacturing capabilities by bringing Valiant’s proven propulsion technologies under the Egress Space corporate group.
As a leading provider of microgravity access and return services, Egress Space will incorporate Valiant’s expertise and services into its portfolio of orbital and suborbital offerings.
Egress Space Founder Benjamin Wannan said the acquisition strengthens the company’s offering to the commercial space sector.
“This deal reflects our commitment to building a robust ecosystem for space manufacturing and logistics,” Mr Wannan said. “Valiant Space has built an exceptional team and product line, and we’re excited to support their continued growth as part of the Egress family.”
As part of the agreement, Valiant Space will continue to operate under its existing brand and maintain production of its flagship VS-1 thrusters. Egress Space will support the company in scaling its manufacturing capacity and pursuing new commercial opportunities.
The integration will enable Valiant to focus on delivering high-performance hardware for space missions, while leveraging Egress Space’s infrastructure, flight platforms and strategic direction.
Established in 2023, Egress Space offers services across four core areas: returns, launch, precision cubesat deployment and parabolic flight services. The company aims to make small-payload, end-to-end space logistics more affordable, with a focus on accelerating microgravity biomedical and advanced materials manufacturing.
