Space missions company, Saber Astronautics, has seen its new Lot Fourteen office officially opened by South Australian Premier, the Honourable Peter Malinauskas MP.
Founded in 2008, Saber provides ‘next generation’ spaceflight operation services and software, and operates multiple mission control centres, laboratories and hubs across the country, including the Responsive Space Operations Centre (RSOC) located within the Australian Space Discovery Centre at Lot Fourteen.
The new office in Lot Fourteen’s historic Bice Building will serve as Saber’s primary South Australian place of business and includes both software development and new spacecraft Concurrent Design facilities.
CEO of Saber, Dr Jason Held, explained the facilities will provide collaborative opportunities for the space industry, allowing for projects to be delivered for approval by government agencies and gain support from investors.
“Australian industry has great ideas for missions of strategic importance such as climate change, agriculture, mining, and defence,” Dr Held said.
“This facility is a collaborative space for people to access nearly a decade of exceptional capabilities and design new missions for the future.”
