Local space start-up Robinson Aerospace Systems has successfully launched their first flat-pack cube satellite kits, RASCube, aiming to inspire and launch future stars into space careers.
Designed and hand-built by 19-year-old Founder, Edward Robinson, the immersive learning experience mimics the look, feel and function of a real cube satellite with an aluminium structure, electronics systems, solar array, and wireless telemetry and display.
Its accompanying suite of online teaching resources and plans for years 8 to 10 makes it easy for teachers to incorporate into existing curriculum, empowering educators to engage students in hands-on learning and problem-solving.
Twenty kits were presented to the inaugural users at a launch event in March at Lot Fourteen.
Having started the company just 12 months ago from his family garage in the Barossa, Robinson is certainly making waves with his innovative products and has seen great success in a short period of time.
The company is now based in Stone & Chalk at Lot Fourteen and has also announced Isabella McCulloch will be joining the innovative team as Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer.
McCulloch brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the Robinson team, having graduated from a Bachelor of Space Science and Astrophysics and a Professional Science Honours in Science Innovation from the University of Adelaide, as well as working at the Australian Space Agency for a number of years.
Pre-orders for batch two of the RASCube are now open and are expected to be dispatched by late August 2023.
