Premier Steven Marshall will today travel to the United States for a ten-day trip, to drive
South Australia’s export opportunities and attract more lucrative investment to the state.
With a focus on defence and space, food and wine and the creative industries, the trip will bolster our trade relationship with the United States, which is currently South Australia’s second-largest export market.
Premier Marshall said the visit presents the perfect opportunity to further spruik South
Australia’s export credentials, promote South Australian brands in the United States’ market and attract further investment in the defence and space sector.
“The United States is a crucial trading partner for our state. We need to ensure we make
the most of any opportunity to promote our trade and export potential and create better
access for South Australian businesses to U.S markets,” said Premier Marshall.
“The United States is already our second-largest export destination, and as the biggest
investor in South Australia, the U.S already has a considerable presence in our state.
“I want to use this trip to drive further investment from the United States in South Australia and bolster the economic growth set in motion by our government.
“Our state has so much to offer across multiple industries and it’s imperative that we exploit these opportunities for growth.
“With the establishment of the Australian Space Agency in Adelaide, the United States will be a crucial investor in this sector in South Australia, helping the local space industry reach its full potential.”
