South Australia has further strengthened its position as the leader of Australia’s space industry by securing another important space conference.
The 19th Australian Space Research Conference (ASRC) – one of the nation’s largest annual meetings of researchers in space science and technology – will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, from 30 September to 2 October 2019.
The conference is jointly sponsored and organised by the National Committee for Space and Radio Science (NCSRS) and the National Space Society of Australia (NSSA), with the support of the Mars Society of Australia (MSA), and will bring together space scientists, engineers, educators, and workers from across the country.
This year’s conference will be held in conjunction with the 8th Space Forum, hosted by the South Australian Space Industry Centre.
Adelaide Convention Bureau CEO Damien Kitto said he was pleased to bring the ASRC to Adelaide after hosting the International Astronautical Congress in 2017 which attracted more than 4500 delegates.
“This is the one of many business events within the space and defence genre that the Bureau will bring to South Australia in the years to come,” he said.
The legacies of these events, as was the legacy of the IAC, will continue to provide opportunities for innovation, investment and trade to the state.
“With the development of Lot Fourteen, a real focus and solid investment in innovation by the State Government, we look forward to promoting this exciting element to the world as we have done and will continue to do within the Health Sciences arena off the back of the BioMed City development.”
