Since relocating, the company has received support from the South Australian Government through the Research, Commercialisation and Start-up Fund. This allowed them to hire international talent and procure valuable prototype technology.
Founder of Neumann Space, Dr Patrick ‘Paddy’ Neumann, has received multiple awards for his work in the field of plasma physics, including the 2020 Lawrence Sperry Award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, an award usually reserved for professionals operating out of large, international companies. This achievement has drawn well deserved attention to the success of the Adelaide based business, which is on track to finalise development of a satellite propellant system that can be entirely manufactured in South Australia, using a local supply chain, and exported around the world.
The key ingredient for success for South Australia’s space industry are collaboration, locally and internationally to access the global markets but also and very importantly training a new generation of space qualified engineers and researchers.
